Ministry of Justice has confirmed yet another outrageous fee hike for citizens who need to access to our courts. The MOJ has announced this week that they are implementing a 34% hike in Divorce fees to come into force next week. Sadly this will no doubt cause considerable hardship for the vulnerable and those of modest means.
The government realises that Court users are a captive audience and had within the last two years already hiked divorce fees. In other Civil Law areas the Government has recently increased Court Fees by up to 620% in some instances.

Whilst Courts are closing and waiting times are set to increase it is sad to see the government wishes to turn access to Justice into a for profit enterprise.
